UPDATE ON DEVELOPMENTS
There are 3 current developments that threaten to engulf Hilperton:
Redcliffe 80 houses outline application lodged
Lightwood Strategic 1300 houses application due Autumn 2026
Barwood 300 houses consultation August 2026 application due September 2026
This is addition the approved outline application for Maxcroft Farm by Barratts for 180 houses
Lightwood Strategic plan a further 1700 houses across Hilperton to complete Great Whaddon
We are launching a major campaign to oppose this large scale development.

I would like to add my support against the proposed development of Hilperton with the building of the housing estates.
Any more traffic using Whaddon Lane would be both unsustainable and dangerous. The lane is narrow and already with the amount of cars using it, is often difficult to negotiate with a tricky turning onto Hill Street. In the mornings there are cars going each way and any more traffic use is an accident probability. This lane is also used by many ramblers, joggers, dog walkers and bike riders and is a tourist attraction for nature lovers on their way to the canal and river.
The access onto Whaddon Lane must be stopped.
